It's been a while since my last video. The reason was that I had to wait to get my new 9x12 Intuos to replace the old 4x5 Graphire I was using for the past videos. Anyway... So I got a few requests of people wanting me to show proportions of the face and how to start it. So this is a pretty basic attempt at that. I recorded it at actual speed, but it seems really slow because I'm still getting used to this new tablet. I'm at least 3 times faster with paper and a pencil. Programs used were Painter IX and Camtasia Studio. For those wondering what brush I used, it was a 2B Pencil with default settings, at a 2.2 size and with a light light blue-gray colour. Music is 'Sealed Door' by Project Majestic Mix and 'Eternal Wind' by Mister G and FFMusicDJ. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get Paid To Draw Today - www.getpaidtodraw.com

Here's a 2-point perspective sketch of a building done in 15 minutes (don't ask what this building is for since this is just an impromptu/conceptualization sketch - meaning I'm just drawing whatever form comes through my mind at that moment.) Anyway, I used 3 pens of varying thicknesses for this drawing, these are: 1) Pilot Hi Tecpoint V5 (commonly known as a "sign pen"); 2) Artline 725 Superfine Point Marker; and 3) Artline 700 Marker. All in black ink. The sketch pad I used is 9" x 12". And the background music is the Club Beats Mix of Salt 'n Peppa's song "Push It". The point here is practicing "quick & dirty" sketches (ie, overlapping lines, erasures, informal perspective, etc.) to visualize a design concept in the quickest time possible. davindageek.weebly.com Yo what is up everyone, this is your guy Davin, and I'm doing a four part video of how I draw, I deal with the Pen tool and Pencil tool in these video tutorials, lol sorry that there are four part, it's not my fault that youtube only allows you to only post ten minute videos. However,I'm not trippin', so yeah this first video will show how I make the bare bone sketch in which I use to do my inking in vector with the pen tool. Then from there I would use the pencil tool to color and shade my characters. Lmao ok I know what you're saying, this sketch looks like crap! and you're right 8D. But however the sketch is usually a simple guide in which I use to help me get to point B of the drawing. I know it's not the most spectacular sketch work you have ever seen I mean I was also racing agents the clock too however I'm not making any excuses, but that is just the way I do things you guys. So sorry if you don't like it xP, you can just skip to part two where I ink him if you want. I repeat there are four parts to this video, this one is the bare bone sketching , then there is the inking job, after that is the coloring, last but not least the simple shading job. Please watch all four parts before you cast your judgment. Note: I did some editing to save time, so I'm sorry if things skip around, or if it sounds like I say something out of whack Please notify me if you see something in the video I messed up or said incorrectly. Thank you so much for watching ...

Kinda self explanitory. USE 300 NOT 3000 pixels per inch! And use a tablet! I should also like to point out I do NOT endorse torrenting photoshop. A lot of people worked very hard to make the software and the least you can do is pay them copious amounts of cash for the privilege to use it. That and it stops you being plucked from your bed by government goons.

Photoshop CS Wacom Intuos 3 tablet Snaps Pro X vid capture This video is an experiment in "mini-tutorials" to share some of my digital techniques with those who have been requesting them. I've been trying to find a way to make something like this available without hindering an already tight chaotic daily schedule. I threw this together quite fast, so there might be some quirks in it. If it works out, and people find this to be helpful I will try to do more. You'll notice that there is a music track on this vid... It is a quick recording of my older brother doodling out some tunes on his acoustic guitar... Which leads me to my next point-- (and this might sound a little grumpy).. ...I am slowly working on formulas for creating longer tutorial dvd's of art technique for which I will eventually make available on my website... Someday... And in doing this, I am trying to find a good style of music/sound to accompany these vids... This is why there is sound on this vid, when I usually don't feature ANY. I am experimenting with different things, seeing how it fits. The next vid may go back to not having any sound at all. But in all honesty, one of my little pet peeves is people who comment on my channel about the the lack of music on my vids, and how it makes them BORING... To me, that's like going to a concert to see/hear a musician play, and complaining about what kind of shirt he is wearing. If the lack of music/sound on these vids bores you, then the answer is simple. These ...

I thought this would be an interesting little exercise. I recorded myself mind mapping an imaginary photo journalist's weblog site and then proceeded to sketch the site on paper. I then moved onto Adobe Fireworks and fleshed out a design concept for "Joe". Please note, that although this seems quick, there is a lot more to designing a website than what I show in this video. There is still the coding after this and a lot of client discovery before. Not to mention time during the project spent discussing and tweaking the project. I am a freelance interface designer and you can find me at www.allchorn.com

This is an old one... I don't know when I did it. Found it on my hard drive. It's a 20 minute sketch (with watered down acrylic paints) (And once again, a cat makes a guest appearance. Extremely common in my house. If they are awake, they're going to walk across my art desk.)
