Guide to page numbers and sections in Word 2007. You want the page numbering to start on a specific page with number 1. For example, a document with one title page, a second page for the Abstract and a third page for the Table of Content (ToC). The introduction starts on the fourth page, and that is where you want numbers, starting at 1. The trick is to insert a section break. Each section can have its unique design, including its own page numbering system. By default, sections are linked to each other. This is something that we have to change. I will show you how to do that. The first step is to put the blinking cursor at the beginning of the fourth page. Then, click the page layout TAB, select insert section and make sure it is the next page-option. By doing this, you have created two separate section, that you can work with. Then, to insert a page number in the second section, make sure you place the blinking cursor somewhere in section two. Then click the Insert Tab, select Insert page number. (In this example, I will put those numbers in the bottom, centre.) Now it is time to break the link. Because the two sections that we created are linked to each other, the page numbering is not correct at the moment. Click once on the link button, to break that link. While you are still in the second section of your document, re-format the page numbering for this section. You do that by clicking on the Insert TAB, selecting Format page numbers. Update 1/5/2008: Many have commented that you need to be a YouTube partner to get the cool banners and other customizations. I can't verify that as I am not a YT partner but it is very plausible. Also, Help documentation on how to be a YT partner now exists (surf the Help pages) although nothing much about the customizations just yet. Update 11/28/2007: Thanks to boyfriendable who figured out one way to add a banner... www.youtube.com INSTRUCTIONS: How to add the puny "regular user" banner... The puny banner is actually a background image so if you are already using one that you want to keep then forget it. You have to create it using the right size/dimensions. It's best if you copy one that has the right proportions and text location and then just edit accordingly. 1.) "Borrow" someone's banner. Simply right-click on the banner and "Save Background As". 2.) Edit the banner using mspaint or some other graphics editing software application. Place graphics/text where it already exists or it may look weird - this is important! 3.) Upload the picture to an image server that allows you to post using a URL ie Photobucket. As of around 9/16/2008 it appears that YouTube now allows you to upload the image directly to the YouTube servers instead of having to host the image elsewhere in which case proceed. 4.) Go to your YT Account/ Channel Design menu and specify the ...
